Joseph C. Anderson, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the School of Medicine and a practicing gastroenterologist at Stony Brook University Hospital with a focus in colorectal cancer screening. Specifically, he involved in studies which include the development and evaluation of new technologies for colorectal cancer screening including virtual colonoscopy. He has published several articles examining the technical performence of colonoscopy with the goal of developing better colonoscopes for screening . He also published studies regarding the risk factors for colorectal cancer based on large population studies conducted at Stony Brook.
