David Ferguson, Ph.D. is a Distinguished Service Professor of Technology and Society and Applied Mathematics and Statistics, and he is Chair of the Department of Technology and Society. His research and teaching are intertwined and focus on issues of quantitative reasoning, problem solving, use and assessment of educational technologies, technology in mathematics, science and engineering education; and decision making. He is currently working on NSF-funded projects to study innovative approaches to human-computer interfaces and to study learning and teaching in mathematics via distance learning.
