Martin S. Karpeh, M.D. is Director of the Long Island Cancer Center and Chief of the Surgical Oncology Service in the Department of Surgery. He is considered one of the leading experts in the treatment of stomach cancer and upper gastrointestinal tract cancers, as well as in general surgical oncology. He developed a division of specially trained oncologists to care for all aspects of solid tumor oncology. Dr. Karpeh has conducted extensive research on the multimodality treatment of stomach cancer, gastroesophageal cancers, and soft tissue sarcomas. He is currently also a Professor of Surgery.
