Fine Wine and Fine Food for Sample and Discussion at Stony Brook Southampton
SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y., October 23, 2007— A fun and exciting food and wine event, “Sublime Tastes: Southampton 2007,” will take place this Saturday, from 1 to 7 p.m., at the Fine Arts Center at the Stony Brook Southampton campus.
From 1 to 5 p.m., the Center for Wine, Food, and Culture is hosting a symposium and panel discussion on what makes food great, moderated by author and vintner Louisa Hargrave. Lecturers and panelists include Gourmet Magazine food writer Jonathan Gold, New York Times food writer Florence Fabricant and gardener and award-winning author Patricia Klindienst.
Then, from 5 to 7 p.m., there will be a harvest reception and extensive food and wine tastings featuring such North Fork wineries as Bedell Cellars, Corey Creek and Wolffer Estates, as well as a number of restaurants and caterers, including Jedediah’s in Jamesport, Wildthyme in Southampton and North Fork Table & Inn in Southold. Students from Stony Brook’s school of music will perform.
