Stony Brook Reduces Elective Early-Term Deliveries By 75 Percent
Stony Brook University Hospital (SBUH) has reduced its rate of elective early-term deliveries by 75 percent to lower the risk of serious health problems and deaths for newborns in their first year of life. SBUH is among a group of hospitals nationwide that have significantly reduced their rates, as reported in a study in today’s edition of Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Stony Brook Children's Emergency Physician Named To NY State EMS Panel
Sergey Kunkov, MD, MS, Chief of the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Stony Brook Long Island Children’s Hospital, has been appointed to the New York State Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Advisory Committee. The appointment, effective through Jan. 31, 2017, was announced on Feb. 5 by Nirav R. Shah, MD, MPH, New York State Commissioner of Health.
