Kevin Meaney
Melvin George
Tina Georgi
On May 13, 2009, at 8:00 PM, at the Staller Center stage at Stony Brook University, three top comedians in television entertainment will perform at the annual Cody Comedy Festival. The event will benefit the Cody Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities, established as a Center of Excellence for education, clinical service, community outreach, and research focused on autism spectrum disorders and related disabilities.

General Admission is $25 per ticket. The “Funny Bone” Cocktail Reception will take place before the comedy show, at 6:30 PM, at the Charles B. Wang Center. The cocktail reception and reserved show seating tickets are $150. Many sponsorship packages are available for the event, ranging from $500 (The Giggle) to $2,500 (Belly Laugh) to $10,000 (Knee-Slapper) and $25,000 (Headliner).

Comedians Kevin Meaney, Melvin George, and Tina Georgi will bring their varied comedic styles to the Staller Center Main Stage for this year’s festival. One of the country’s more popular stand-up comics for the last 25 years, and known for drawing upon family relationships, Meaney has appeared on Saturday Night Live and the Late Show with David Letterman. He has also been in feature films and TV shows and made a Broadway debut in the hit musical, Hairspray. George is a trained actor, director and comedian. He has appeared on HBO, A&E and Showtime specials and dubs himself the “King of Smooth.” Georgi, a former Fulbright scholar, is known as a comedian with a brain. Drawing inspiration from her adventures as a high school teacher, she has appeared on the Late Show with Craig Kilborn and opened for Bill Maher, Gilbert Gottfried, and Lewis Black.
