WHO:              

Frans Nielsen – Forward; Played on the Danish National Hockey Team

 

Rob Schremp – Forward; Played for the U.S. Team in Junior Championships in 2005 and 2006

 

Blake Comeau – Forward; Led Canada to a Gold Medal in the Junior Championships in 2006

 

Andrew MacDonald – Defenseman; 2009 rookie Islander player

 

 

WHAT:             

Children who are ill and hospitalized at Stony Brook University Medical Center will be all smiles during the visit from the New York Islanders hockey players. The players will hand children toys, autographed cards, and other gifts for the holiday season. The players will mingle with the children and offer free NY Islander Practice Jerseys to the patients.

TIME:           

2:00 to 4:00 PM

                       

WHY:       

The holidays are a difficult time for anyone to be hospitalized, let alone children. The Islander players continue to bring joy and hope to hospitalized children, as well as continue their seasonal tradition by purchasing toys and handing them to children at the hospital.

 

DIRECTIONS

LIE to exit 62. North on Nicolls Road 8.5 miles. Cross over Rte. 327 and make a right at the South Entrance. Drive to main hospital entrance (second light), and make a left. Go to hospital parking lot. Go to Info Desk in lobby and ask for a media rep to be called to escort you to the hospital floor.
