STONY BROOK, N.Y., November 19, 2001—"Fact, Fiction, and the Future"—an examination of the history of biochemical threats, including anthrax and smallpox, and how to deal with them—will be held at the Long Island State Veterans Home, on the campus of Stony Brook University, Monday, December 3 at 7:00 PM. The presentation is co-sponsored by the Civic Association of the Setaukets.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will provide valuable information for members of the community relating to bioterrorism as part of Stony Brook University's continuing effort to provide its resources and expertise to local residents and civic leaders. It will feature presentations by Dr. Peter Viccellio, Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine in the School of Medicine and Dr. Lester Kallus, Clinical Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and Co-Chair of the University's Disaster Preparedness Committee.
