Health Care Experts John J. Ricotta, M.D. is Professor and Chair of the Department of Surgery. His research has been focused on the surgical treatment of stroke, operation for aortic aneurysm, and treatment of peripheral vascular disease (PVD), which can lead to amputation and increased cardiovascular death when underdiagnosed and undertreated. Dr. Ricotta has been honored both nationally and internationally for his clinical and research efforts. He is the author of more than 250 articles and book chapters and an associate editor of two major textbooks in the field of Vascular Surgery.
