Clinton T. Rubin, Ph.D. is Professor and Director of the Center for Biotechnology, and Chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering. He has conducted leading research on the prevention and reversal of bone loss, including methods of slowing the decrease of bone density during manned space flight as part of NASA's Microgravity Outreach Project. His research also focuses on the use of biophysical stimuli to accelerate wound-healing and implant integration in musculoskeletal tissues. Dr. Rubin holds 12 patents relating to prevention of osteoporosis, bone-growth stimulation, healing of fractures, and other processes.
Specific areas of expertise: Osteoporosis. Anti-resorptive and anabolic agents for bone, biomechanics. Musculoskeletal bioengineering. Diagnostics for bone quantity and quality.
