Health Care Experts Theodore G. Gabig, M.D., is Associate Director of the Stony Brook University Cancer Center and Chief, Division of Hematology/Oncology. He has practiced as a medical oncologist for 30 years and oversees the clinical care program within Hematology/Oncology. The division includes multidisciplinary treatment teams for all major forms of cancer. A goal of the division is to search for better ways to prevent cancer and methods to detect it, with a special emphasis on gastrointestinal cancers and lung cancer. Dr. Gabig has spearheaded smoking cessation educational programs at several healthcare institutions and is developing one for Stony Brook University Medical Canter.
