Raymond Goldsteen, Dr. P.H., is the Director of the Center for Health Policy and Management. He also is Director of the Master in Public Health Program and Director of the Evaluative Sciences Division, which focuses on evaluating specific areas of the healthcare system and studying a variety of health issues, including healthcare quality management and patient decision-making. He has written on topics dealing with questions relating to the fairness and effectiveness of the allocation of healthcare resources.

Specific areas of expertise: Healthcare management and policy. Healthcare economics. Public health interventions.

John A. Rizzo, Ph.D. is Professor and Director of the Center for Health Services and Outcomes Research, where researchers engage in collaborative efforts with faculty at Stony Brook as well as other organizations throughout the region to better understand the organization, financing, and delivery of health care services. Dr. Rizzo holds joint appointments in the Departments of Preventive Medicine and Economics and teaches students in the Graduate Program in Public Health as well as doctoral students in the Economics Department. He has published widely in the areas of competition in medical markets, pharmacoeconomics, and clinical outcomes research. Dr. Rizzo’s research has appeared in leading economics and medical journals, including the Journal of Political Economy, the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Journal of Law and Economics, the Journal of the American Medical Association, and the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.

Specific areas of expertise: Health economics, pharmacoeconomics, cost benefit analysis, clinical outcomes research.
