Wajdy Hailoo, M.D., is a Professor of Preventive Medicine in the School of Medicine and an expert on global environmental health issues. He also is Division Head of Environmental and Occupational Medicine at Stony Brook University Hospital. Dr. Hailoo spearheaded Stony Brook’s effort to rebuild the environmental health infrastructure of Iraq following the 2003 war, an initiative support by an $11 million grant from USAID. He has directed many state and federal programs in the field of occupational and environmental medicine.
