Breast Imaging


Paul R. Fisher, M.D. is a Clinical Associate Professor in both the Departments of Radiology and Surgery, and is Chief of Breast Imaging at The Carol Baldwin Breast Care Center. He participates in numerous research projects, including state-of-the-art Breast MRI spectroscopy, digital mammographic tomosynthesis, and patient directed breast compression. He heads the Breast Center at Stony Brook University Hospital, which has been a national leader in Digital Mammography, computer-aided mammographic interpretation, and percutaneous breast biopsies. He was the first radiologist on Long Island to performing MRI-guided needle localizations and has trained and certified over 400 physicians nationwide in stereotactic biopsy technique.
