Stephen G. Post, Ph.D. is Director of the Center for Medical Humanities, Compassionate Care, and Bioethics at Stony Brook University.  He is recognized for his research on compassionate care at the interface of science, ethics, religious thought, and behavioral medicine, and for expertise on ethical aspects of caring for persons with dementia and developmental cognitive disabilities. He was awarded the annual  prize in Medical Humanities by World Literacy Canada in 2008.  

Specific areas of expertise: Bioethics, cognitive disability, compassion, altruism, religion
