STONY BROOK, N.Y., March 16, 2006 — Judith Tanur, a Distinguished Teaching Professor at Stony Brook University, has been selected by the Northeastern Association of Graduate Schools as the 2005-2006 winner of the Geoffrey Marshall Mentoring Award.

The award given for “her outstanding support of graduate students from course completion through research and placement” will be presented at the annual meeting of the Northeastern Association of Graduate Schools in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on Friday April 7.

The Marshall Award is named in memory of Geoffrey Marshall, past president of NAGS who was instrumental in creating the mentoring award during his tenure in 1997-98.
