Cody Walk At SBU Continues Success In Raising Awareness, Funds For Autism And Developmental Disabilities
The 4th annual Cody Center Walk for Autism and Developmental Disabilities took place Sunday, May 3, at Stony Brook University. The event raised more than $28,000 for the Matt and Debra Cody Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities at SBU, which will be used to support research, education and community programs at the Cody Center.

Connecting Delta Cities: International Workshop Focuses on Strategies for Adapting and Mitigating Impacts of Climate Change on Coastal Cities at Stony Brook Manhattan
By 2040, more than 50% of the global population is expected to live in urban coastal areas. Yet climate change and sea level rise have made many coastal cities even more vulnerable to flooding due to rising sea level, storm surges and extreme weather-related river floods. On June 9-10, 2009, an international group of 75 scientists, engineers, city planners, port, transportation and emergency managers will convene at Stony Brook Manhattan to discuss common challenges and innovative strategies for protecting coastal populations, port facilities, industrial centers, transportation corridors, water systems, telecommunications facilities, hospitals, schools and financial businesses in flood-prone coastal urban areas.

114 SBU Med Students Meet Their Match: Residency Assignments Span 17 U.S. States
Shouts of joy were commonplace at the 2009 Stony Brook University School of Medicine Match Day, when 114 SBU medical students learned where they will spend their first year of residency training beginning in July. On March 19, more than 24,000 medical students nationwide learned of their residency match.

United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Exhibition "Deadly Medicine: Creating the Master Race" to Open at Stony Brook University
The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s traveling exhibition, Deadly Medicine: Creating the Master Race, makes its debut at Stony Brook University on Monday, April 6 at the Charles B. Wang Center. The exhibition examines how the Nazi leadership, in collaboration with individuals in professions traditionally charged with healing and the public good, used science to help legitimize persecution, murder and, ultimately, genocide. This traveling version of Deadly Medicine is based on the acclaimed exhibition of the same name that originally opened at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. in April 2004.
