Stony Brook to Present Public Forums on Mental Health
STONY BROOK, N.Y. September 3, 2008 - Stony Brook University will host "Healthy Minds Across America," a national day of free public forums on mental health, on Sunday, September 14, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm in Wang Center 301. The forums are presented in partnership with NARSAD, a worldwide charity dedicated to mental health research.
Topics include translating basic science into patient care; neurogenesis, new neurons, and mental health; and new paths in mental health research. The presenters are Fritz Henn, M.D., Ph.D., Associate Director for Life Sciences, Brookhaven National Laboratory; Grigori Enikolopov, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory; and Lorna Role, Ph.D., Professor and Chair, Neurobiology & Behavior, Stony Brook University. Stony Brook's Mary Kritzer, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Neurobiology & Behavior, will moderate.
